Cambio de Colores Approaches

The theme for the 2009 Cambio de Colores conference is Latinos in the Heartland. This multi-state conference focuses on integration of immigrants, and will be held May 18-20 at the Millennium Center in St. Louis.

The conference committee is now accepting abstract that meet its focus. For more information, visit the Cambio website.

Cambio de Colores is organized by the University of Missouri's Cambio Center in cooperation with the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development, and the Immigrants in Midwestern Communities Inter University Network.


HELP Update

Program Director Grace Grebel is currently reviewing surveys that were submitted by health educators from around the southwest Missouri area in order to identify common issues, common barriers and the top priorities for which learning modules are needed.

Grace will be creating interactive learning module kits that health educators can utilize to provide education in group sessions.

The ORA board welcomes new member Carmen G. Perez, Ph.D., an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at Missouri State University in Springfield. Carmen is very enthusiastic about the mission of ORA. The board is excited to have her participation and looks forward to being able to utilize her expertise.
